i go to lake conroe most of time for fishing-boating-skying-tubing-jet skying-family pinic...a day of relax...or for holidays week-end i go to lake somerville or even lake travis in fishing is very exciting but very few times,anyway fishing is fun but alotof patience no like hammer on throttle of a bike.well have fun.enjoy warm week-end

honestly, if you're going with family i would grab a case of beer, rent a boat, and head out to one of the aforementioned lakes within this thread. saltwater fishing is not as relaxing (or personal) as chilling in a shady spot of shallow lakefront while shootin the bull with an in law. i mean, if you're up for battling the elements (sun, wind, cold) as well as a 30 lb + fish hooked on your line then go for it, but i would rather sit back and fight some red eared sliders nibbling at my bobber while drinking a budweiser.
