I took it offensively,

seriously, i have had the same , I do work on the side, other than my coprate 9-5 job. I quoted a guy 150.00 to change the steering box on his truck. It's about a 45 minute job, 4 bolts no big deal. He supplied the new box.

He tries to jew me down before I even get started, he pops off with, " it's only 4 bolts, I'll give you 75.00 bucks".

I replied back, go ahead and take it home and do it then, when you it up, I'll charge you 300.00 to fix it. He was like WTF?, I explained to him for 150 bucks I am only making about 85.00 by the time I went and rented a pit man arm puller. If I did it for 75, I'd make a lil less than 20.00.

It might have him off but oh well, I don't do side work for free, but I have been known to be rather charitable for the right person/reason.

Some peopl are , I find that those people who have no clue or skin in the game are the worst.

You see the crazy thing is the employees that posted on the thread laughing about the situation kind of justify my first initial complaint . EVERYONE PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME IF YOU TOOK YOUR BIKE TO A SHOP BE IT YOU WERE BIENG DIFFICULT OR NOT AND HAD ANY TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH THE SERVICE. AND EXPLAINED THIS TO THE SHOP AND BEY LAUPHED AND SAID HOPE HOU ENJOYED YOUR STAY AT MANCUSO HOW THE WOULD YOU REACT TO THE SITUATION TO BE HONEST THE ONLY TIME I HAVE EVER BEEN TREATED THAT WAY WAS BY THE COPS!!!! Your not doi g me a favor by workin on my bike there is a lot of shops in houston! I'm doing you a favor by spending my hard earned money with your stupid shop!! I OWN A COMPANY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS MY NUMBER 1 priority jerks if you really think about it I payed you 240 to put a sprocket on and then left your shop to spend my money at SAMs I have spent like 1500 on just fixing a bike that I know needs work but I got at a steal and it's my first bike I bough it so I could learn more about it in the process of fixing it. WHY WOULD I BUY A 7000 bike as a first bike when I know I'm gonna drop it Douche!! I HAVE TWO KIDS A MORTGAGE AND A COMPANY TO RUN Can you say that for your self I'm pretty sure not matter fact when u realize you work for a company ill hire you and pay you what they pay you jus so I can teach u a thing or two about service !! Oh did I mention I'm 25 never judge a book by its cover I think your parents should have taught you that when you were younger but I can understand your lack of understanding because you don't seem to be a good listener

WE, as a shop, and them, as great workers, get rewarded for doing the work faster than average.
Common mechanic/service practice for those that don't know.
Well, not sure about what is "expected"... but charging the book rated time... flat... no changes up or down.

That doesn't account for easy jobs, nor does it account for stripped/rusted parts. (book time is the same for the south and northern states... sucks for them). This is also why mechanics have a fortune in tools.... their time is money and the PERFECT took makes it MUCH faster. WAY faster than Joe Blow in a driveway with 12 wrenches.

Now, finding a new problem while working on it? That should be discussed... and pricing may be adjusted since the customer didn't originally plan on it. But the shop has the right to charge the book cost (unless they caused the problem)

I think that's the most grammatically correct sentence you've written to date.

You are seriiously out of topic, learn to stay on it instead of using your irrelevant logic...
The majority of us have already determined that the OP isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and Mancuso isn't raping anyone. Most mancuso customers must have a pretty fair opinion of their business practices or they wouldn't have multiple long standing locations across town. I think you missed the short bus again, that's too bad considering the OP was already aboard and holding a seat for you!
