Inspection sticker on swingarm?

Can someone point me to the code section on inspection sticker location for a motorcycle? I'd like to get it away from the plate, but I want something more substantive than "my pal said you can put it on the swingarm."

I have found HPD gives very little credence to "your pal" and his opinion.

If I can locate it away from the plate, is there an inspection station which can and will put it elsewhere?

It has to be viewable from the rear of the bike, I will only mount them if they are viewable from the rear. A lot of car places don't know the rules and mound them anywhere.

Buddy got pulled over on a ride that we were on simply because the LEO couldn't see the sticker which was mounted on the swingarm. As soon as the LEO saw it, he said "ok, you're good, but you may want to mount it so that it's visible from the rear so you don't get pulled over" No ticket nor warning and we were on our way. This was out on I-10 near hwy 6, so I don't know if that was constable, sheriff or what. Probably about 3 years ago.

Interesting. Maybe I should just deal with it under the plate.

What I have noticed so far that only new bikes from the dealer have the sticker plates with the license plate, all other Sports bike usually don't have it. How they are surviving from the cops with out the sticker plate at the rear?

It only has to be near the rear. Its kinda subjective but swing arm pivot point and back is the rear. All of mine have been on the swing arm and I have never had any problems.

I just literally had my inspection sticker placed on my bike this Saturday (GA bike being registered in TX). First shop told me I needed a bracket to mount it underneath the plate. Didn't want to do that, so went to another place down the street. They had no issues mounting it on the swingarm - said "that should be fine", which was all I needed to hear. Better than a massive plate under the license plate, and will deal with any LEO issues if/when they crop up.

I have a fender eliminator kit on mine but I still use the little bracket that came stock. Sure it doesn't look as good but I'd rather not deal with any cops.

I've had all of mine either on the swing arm, or in my tail trunk.

No problems, but i'm sure that not riding like a jackarse keeps me out of the Leo's viewfinder.

Back when I was gangsta' I didn't even get hassled for not having inspection. But really it is just too easy to just get the thing these days. If they didn't say anything then I doubt they care I have it on the swingarm--just as long as you're not riding dirty.

All depends on the particular LEO and particular jurisdiction. Kemah, for instance, will write the citation more times than not. (I've had to pay the fine for a valid sticker on the swingarm) Now mine is actually on the tail fairing behind the passenger seat above the brake light. Some officers still dont like it, but it can't really be argued that it isn't visible from the rear and not near the plate. And I dont have to hang it down off the bike anywhere.

Unless you enjoy giving LEO an excuse to pull you over, just get the bracket and put it next to your license plate. a little 2x3 sticker will not turn your gorgeous machine into a piece of .
