Chix's dirtbike build thread

I got through a number of dirt bikes a year, keep some and sell some. Here are some of the latest builds I'm keeping. Will post updates as I get a chance to work on them.

2004 CRF 100 engine in 2000 CR80 chassis my fiancee built "Fankie"
As it came

The good frame needed a foot peg so he grafted a foot peg from the bad frame on.

Welding the new peg in

Comparison

About read for mods

New front for the CRF100 engine

Mocked up

Back mount

CR80 chassis with CRF100 plastics

Fitted the exhaust

Fast forward 6 months, I bought my fiancee a CRF 250 (below) so I inherited this bike. This is as "Frankie" sits today. Because the other wheel and swingarm had such bad bearings I swapped swingarms and rear wheels for a short notice 3 Palms trip next weekend. Will be replacing all bearings once I have time.

I already rebuilt it's forks. Just needs brake pads/bleed, new chain and sprockets, and bearings in swinger and rear wheel. Fun little bike!

2004 CRF 250 "Phoenix"
-cracked case
-fork seals need to be replaced
-blown shock
-needs new seat cover
-faded plastics
-needs chain and sprockets

Previous owner tried to JB weld the hold back together horribly, wtf

1997 CR 125 "Sprinkler"
Old, stock, and ugly!
As I bought it, nasty painted plastics

Forks were horrible, smelled disgusting!

S100 and elbow grease do amazing things!

Painted the chassis

Spokes were all stripped, so getting some new ones to relace

An update to the bikes.

Frankie:
This one was the bike with the least wrong with it before our 3 Palms MX weekend June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. Replaced the rear sprocket (chain was wrong so had to use old one), and generally buttoned everything up.

Rode the bike for the first time last weekend and it was a freaking blast! The muffler fell off twice after we realized it was being hit by the rear tire. Oops.
Fixed it the first time with a Red Bull can. After that the actual mount broke off.

Let a friend ride it in the 100cc battle of the century. The GoPro footage from the battle is great!

Me playing around the first evening of riding

Sprinkler
Rode this bike for the first time last weekend at 3 Palms. It's...interesting. Definitely dated, but still fun. Forks are so stiff!

To get this one ridable
-New rear wheel spokes
-New front and rear Dunlop tires
-Put on rebuilt forks and wheels
-New fuel line

New spokes

Day of riding

Mounted a GoPro to the swingarm

After two days of riding the old bike still ran. Didn't have time to put on the front shrouds since we were lacking the special tank bolts. Its about as fun as it is ugly!
