track suits and shortness

what ya do about the extra length of the suit? I'm 5'4 and wear a size 40us/50uk and fits snug but I have about 8-10inch of extra length.

The only option I know of which probably isn't possible is somehow getting it tailored?

Another is buying a two piece from alpine star which they sell a short version for track pants. Doing that would cost a little over 1k which isn't in my budget.

Or just learn to live with it I guess. short genes.

A 2 piece might work for lvl 1 but I think once you get to level 2 and above you need a one piece.

I'm wondering about this too. Except I'm 5'6" How much would getting it tailored cost? I'm kind of skeptical about that idea though

I'm 5'5 and wear a 40us/50euro Dainese suit. I use the Dtec system which leaves the suit over the boots. That is were my extra length goes and the Dainese Torque Pro In boots are comfortable without having a suit tucked in. I think its super comfortable.

Yea I am too. And I'm pretty sure once its tailored, it wont hold up as well as the original stitching.

hmmm...I dont know if that will work for me because the extra slack is from the knee guard and up. If I drag it down the knee guard will go down as well and wont be in its proper place?

spartan makes custom suit sizes for 700 flat i think

i got one off the shelf and it fits pretty good but if you have unusual proportions like short legs and a long torso you may opt to get the custom one over the cheaper rack size. either way the rack sizes they make are very well fitted (as in non-american). The people there are really helpful, call them or email for more specifics. Easy to deal with.

That's really the reason why I want a two piece and of course because you can get the pants in short length, I would wait but those $50 rentals will add up quick!

but when you buy a 2pc leather, make sure you buy a set which was design together (with shorter jacket), not the one sells individually(universal jacket / pants), the one is not designed as a set. the jacket zipper (where to zip up with pants) it has 1 1/2" of flap to accommodate larger size person, you definitely want to avoid that.

i have both, if you want i can take picture of them so you can see the difference between them

I got my suit custom made by Spartan Leathers. I have a 29" inseam and was not finding anything off the rack that fit right.

Just spoke with him and he recommended me a guy that can alter it and he's only a few doors down from him. I might go with that.

I had a two piece, and sold it. The zipper can fail in a crash. Just my opinion...
