Another sprocket question

05 crf250r. Which way does the countersprocket go. I've gotten about half for the flat surface towards the engine and the other half says the collar goes toward the engine. Normally i could tell if the rear didn't spin as easy but I just put on new pads that need to be broken in and they are binding the rear a bit. I've had different answers from different shops and the seller of the sprocket. I need someone who has put one on this model bike to give me a definitive answer please.
