I work for a contractor for centerpoint and am always weary of stepping foot into someone's back yard to do my job. Especially when I have to jump a fence, looks very suspicious. I always knock first of course though. But still makes me nervous thinking if they get home and I'm in their backyard or if they didn't hear me knock and then see me in their yard.

First off, OP you did good, kept yourself and family safe, thats the first priority. that being said remember been there done that? there would have been 2 corpses or atleast 2 injured attemtped burglars in my garage period. unlawful entry into a habitation when the residence is occupied is burglary of a habitation and is a felony, I will stop the burglar with any force I feel is necessary up to and including deadly force. entry into my garage is in my home and I will do as I believe is necessary. Wack is correct as far as it goes, lots of others are just plain wrong. and yes my moral compass is all fukkered up so kiss my , a year plus in sandland will do that to ya. I will shoot the theives in my yard or in my shop or my house, fukk them and the whores they slid out of with Azylums
