Ticketed for riding at "unsafe speed"

I was written a ticket for allegedly riding my R6 at an unsafe speed. That is literally what it says on the ticket. He checked the box marked "other" and wrote in the space next to that "unsafe speed". There was no accident involved, complainant "except the officer", or crime involved. Just that. Has anyone had a similar citation? I think its bullshit but can this actually hold up in court?

wrd. from my understanding, posted speed limit is max speed under ideal conditions. a slower speed can be "unsafe" under conditions. good luck. soounds like bs if there arent any other notes or check boxes.

Make him prove it was unsafe. Call Fresnel (wackjum) - he lives for that .

I dont see how if he did not cite the actual speed clocked, or what the Limit was, how he can actually write that and make it stick. So what are the details, was it snowing and lightening and you were doing 68 in a 70?

whether you beat it or not...
you must still go through the "hassle"
(driving at an unsafe speed = $145)

most tickets are issued at the "discretion" of the officer, ...
he obviously didnt like what you were doing or maybe didnt like your last video, hehe (just playin')

good luck!

i think this is still current?houstontx.gov/courts/docs/ScheduleFinesDecember2011.pdf

The weather was perfect on a Friday morning out I-10 towards Brookshire. I had no idea I was going to be pulled over, I was pulled over in Brookshire he said he had been trying to catch up to me from Katy. He tried to accuse me of evading but withdrew the charge because of lack of evidence and instead wrote me up for unsafe speed.

He took the card out of my GoPro and looked to see if I had it recording on my trip but the card was empty.

Did you hand it to him or did he just take it out? That does matter. He had no right to confiscate any of your property for ANY reason.

Sounds like a bunch of us need to get some cameras, make sure we are 100% legal, and go LEGALLY riding around this area next time said officer is out and about...

(yes, I enjoy antagonizing cops who think they are Judge Dredd)
