The next time I go off on a mod, I'll just say I was just joking. We'll see if that prevents me from getting banned...

My brother highsided last friday just putting around on his Sportster, he remembers starting a turn and then waking up with paramedics in his face. Had a textile and fullface on, jacket was shredded, broke his arm, helmet had bigass scrapes all over one side. He was pretty happy that his face didn't look like that. He probably would have looked like a dripping jolly roger if he didnt have the lid on.

Dunno what the deal is, I wore my gear when I had my cruisers. I like my skin.

i understand harley riders might say their bikes are safer than sports but IMO if you are on 2 wheels, riding down 45 or 59 then you should wear a lil something more...not saying that sportbike riders are always perfect either

good friend has a v rod and wears protective gear in 10 different layers but he's the only one i can think of that i saw just in full gear on one
Mainly cuz most of them don't quite realize what can happen. When you only ride one or two days a month to the local bar or Starbucks, you don't take the same perspective on it.

Those of us who ride HD's regularly (as in a few thousand miles a month) tend to wear gear. I may not wear riding pants, but heavy jeans, boots, gloves, helmet and jacket ALWAYS.

, sounds rough, glad he is going to be alright. I have been wearing a 3/4 but stories like this will have me putting on a full face from now on.

Same reason SOME sportbike riders wear the jackets or the suit with the speed hump in the back. (gotta get the extra mph on the straight)

I always wear a helmet and jacket/jeans/heavy boots when i ride.

I don't pull up to any rider sportbike or cruiser, asking them why they don't wear gear. I just CHOOSE to do so and respect their personal CHOICE not to.

Uh, not really. It helps eliminate helmet buffeting

Full face FTW. Here's a visual reference for what part of the head is most likely to be injured in a motorcycle wreck. The chin and jaw are the highest risk areas, so a 3/4 helmet isn't gonna do a lot of good.

Which means it's more aerodynamic and therefore, faster. I know it's early, old timer, but try to keep up.

Only you can hit the top speed of their bike on the street
So for everyone else, it's buffeting
