Exclamation watch sprinkler systems...wet curves...mud

All,

I was out riding around Sugar Land and First Colony this morning, around 8 am. They run the sprinkler systems everywhere, and of course more of the water puddles on the street than hits the grass and trees. Coming around a corner near Ft. Settlement Middle School going east towards Memorial park I found a nice trap: a bit of construction truck mud, nice and wet from the sprinkler system, and slicks as goose . My rear tire skidded a bit, I did not panic, let the bike drift, and was ok. Anyway, my speed was reasonable, but a fast take would have been a low side. Watch out for unexpected traps out there! Oh, and I went to the new Mancuso "toy store" on the SW freeway. The place is slick. I finally sat on a Triumph STR and concluded that with no ABS available, that is not the bike. It is a bit tall to suit me, but sure sounds sweet. The Monster 796 with ABS sounds like the one, at the right time, sometimes this fall.
