New tank, if you went that route, should set you back abou $500. That looks like something that a "paintless dent removal" place might actually be able to get out for ya. They don't charge too painful a price, maybe $100 for that one dent.

That's a mighty fine first bike, dent included.
I wouldn't worry too much about the dent (easy for me to say, I know) but the odds are you very well might drop it again.

I wouldn't let that prevent me from buying that bike though.

I agree. It looks like a pdr shop could pop that out. 200 at the most, but I would try the 30 kit at autozone first

That is a great idea and already atop my shopping list (just ahead of a helmet...and jacket...and boots...and pants...and gloves...). So much to do!

Thank you for the feedback everyone.

Cheers,

Nice bike, but you might not like the wind at speed without feerings. If I was looking for a first bike I would go for a 600 cbr-rr or gsx-r.

Rearrange your list man! The gear protecting you is much more valuable than sliders to minimize damage to the bike.

That said, really nice bike and the dent isn't bad at all, look up the price of a new tank and negotiate that w/the seller. Once/if you buy the bike leave the dent there until you are comfortable riding and at least have less of a chance of dropping it.

No way. I LOVE my naked bike. And I LOVE the way that monster looks. Once he's been riding a while and wants to go faster, then he might want the fairings.

Easy for you to say. You're short enough to hide behind the headlight for wind protection.

Nice bike choice. FWIW, I never dropped my first bike, nor my second, or the third. . .it was the fourth one and 30,000 miles later that I dropped a bike. Fix the dent and take pride in your ride as that's a great bike to enter the motorcycling world with IMO.

Not terrible advice, just a matter of taste.

I dont care for the Monsters, either. I think they are ugly.

There are a lot of other naked bikes I like, just not that one.

great bike....I love the Monster line ups...this is an excellent first, second, third or fourth bike!!!! Some people think because it won't go 160 mph its a but there is SO much more to riding than looking like an idiot on the highway!! (that will come later) Enjoy the bike, I wouldn't worry too much about the dent...

That dent looks like it has a crease so forget about paintless dent removal.
