Xtreme Off Road Race @ Shiloh Ridge this weekend 5/21&22

I was gonna skip this race b/c of the bbq and prior commitments to working on Saturday, but after watching the pre race videos I'm not so sure....may just leave Houston around 4am on Sunday to make it. Dirt looks fantastic!

decisions, decisions. CRR down to Angleton to bs and eat or wake at the crack in the middle of the night and drive 2.5 hours to race for an hour and a half and not lose many points to other class champ contenders? lol

will do....next month is in BEASLEY....20 minutes south of SugarLand off 59. I'll make a thread. Didn't make a thread early on for this one cuz I wasn't gonna attend, but that prerace video tugged on my emotions.

See ya there Lee. Probably won't show up until Sunday for the parade lap right before the race...may just have to race the course blind.

I'd just ride it blind. The parade lap effectively turns a 1 hour race into a 2 hour one. You're quite a bit thinner and younger than me, so you'll be ok.

John,

Well after a Friday night of bike maintenance and finding the clutch cable that came in from fleabay being and inch and a half too long I almost threw in the towel....BUT....

b/c I have some badass friends and fellow racers I was able to locate a cable at Wild West and my buddy drove all the way out there to pick it up while I was off busy building a fence. Glad to be able to say that the bike is all in one piece, my fence job is complete and my bags are packed. I'll see you tomorrow. Ain't letting noone get free points in the overall standings. lol

2nd in c class. led a good portion of the race, but didn't have the energy to get back out front after that 3rd climb up the elevator shaft and stalling out at the top during the last lap (it was the only ez/hard).

It turned out to be a great event. I learned the property got some pretty good rain on Friday night, so dirt was perfect by this morning. A few puddles (which, I conveniently found the bottom of a 3 ft hole on my 3rd lap...I don't think I've ever picked up my bike so fast after a crash before), some awesome terrain (awesome flowing berm sections, lots of elevation, off camber climbs/descents, and only one sand section), and excellent course laid out by Otis and gang. Shiloh Ridge really makes me want to get back to Red River and ride saw some badass terrain, but this place takes a well deserved 2nd out of the places I've ridden. I'll post a pic of my bike before I go wash it.

Jon, Never saw you man...made a quick glance for you at the start, but I was late in and early out. Best of luck with the deployment and thanks for your service.

Lostner & Casper...nice seeing you two out there as well.

Thanks again to Texas Xtreme ORR for another successful and fun filled event.
