Friend in ICU

I have a friend that just started really riding and hasn't learned the importance of wearing gear all the time. He is currently in ICU at UTMB Galveston. I'm not sure of the exact circumstances of what caused him to go down but what I do know is that he was at the Texas City "Y" (146, 45, and highway 6) and went down early this morning. He had given his helmet to his girlfriend to wear on the way home from the Beach. She walked away from the accident with some nasty rash and he has severe head trauma and is on total life support. I know this has been said time and time again, but your gear can and most likely will save you from this fate. She walked away and he is fighting for his life.

I sent my prayers...

If i was to pick between me and my girl? I would let her have all my gear.... I dont wanna be responsible for someone's life, specially if I took her out on a ride and didnt have any gear...

But still... Gear at all times for both riders.

be with him...

Which details fit?

Was he involved in the fight? Was he riding with someone else and failed to stop?

Is he 23 and the female 27?

Was he at Club 21?

You might not know the answer to all these questions but I'm curious as to what fits from the story, because it sounds like the person in that news story, was just asking for trouble by running from cops (or at least not stopping when the other guy did)...

Hope your friend recovers but I also hope he was not the one involved with that story. That's no bueno
