Try going to a different service center. You're right thoguh Verizon DOES SUCK!
My buddy John has them, and he's always dropping a call in the middle of a conversation. I'm on Cingular and have never had a problem.
Even when I was a consultant calling from the rigs in the Gulf I could get service 99% of the time.

hahah.. just an FYI all phone companies are like this. I sold cell phones for about 4 yrs for almost all carriers and they're all the same. If they aren't you one way they're getting you another.

get a new phone at reduce price = contract extension
get a new plan = contract extension

if you want to take your number to another carrier it's free for all of them, but you will have to pay the early termination fee.

BTW verizon is one of the better carriers.

Amen! I was in the same position years ago with Primeco, (anyone remember them?) and chose to pay the cancellation fee so I could go to a dependable service.
The whole thing is a scam but most of them won't let you get a "service plan" without a contract, other than pay as you go and the rates aren't that great IMO.

if you want to deal with no contract, get prepaid(expensive rates) or cricket.

Cricket is really good cause it's no contract, and unlimited usage for about $45 a month. All you have to do is buy the phone(which includes first month) and you're ready to rock. Only negative thing about cricket is, there is no roaming. So if you travel outside of houston you'll get charge .59 cent per min. for roaming, or you can purchase roaming min for $5 which get you about 30mins i think.

just call customer service, theres no charge for that, if its a new phone on the same line, if your changing plans then you should only get charged the difference of the plans, since you pay one month in advance, i guess it just depends where you are, cuz cingular sux over here with the dropped calls ......

you can almost get anythign from a cell provider(depending on the carrier) you just have to know what to say to them. You can even cancel your contract early without paying the early termination fee, if you know what to say that jiggles their the right way.

if you need some non-bias advice you can pm me.

eh if you get cingular or t-mobile you dont have to deal with any of that, and how can verizon be one of hte better carriers? they have the worest customer service, soon to be lowest coverage area and they are still operating on cdma and thats not just because its hard to switch its because on cdma they can charge the customers more

bottom line is all carriers are fuggin rip offs, so to sit and argue verizon or cingular or sprint is better is rediculous, everyone just pick your own poison.
