You're kinda right.

Didn't realize that portion (endorsement) had been repealed, but under 21 it is law required to wear one.

Guess it had been around since I started riding...

Sort of. Effective Sept. 9, 2009, the minimum dollar amount for health insurance was removed. And yes, no stickers anymore. Now anyone with an M license can ride helmetless (assuming they're at least 21) if they have either 1.) some type of health insurance, or 2.) have taken MSF... which, I believe, is required now to get the M.

Cops are disallowed to pull people over solely for no helmets.

Yeah... It all changed right after I got my M.

EDIT: That can't be right... must have changed a year after my M... eh, doesn't matter

Its spring break as well. A lot of drunk people, teens, and etc around. It still can cause serious injury's like what everyone is saying. You might be driving 35, but say a car is speeding its off, drunk as , and bam! Outcome cant be good. just giving an example.

I thought wearing a baseball cap sideways, wife beaters, sandals, shorts, and oakley shades is the only way to cruise on the seawall

You shouldn't be riding around on the seawall so you can be recognized for not wearing a helmet - because that's stupid, and since you said you were embarrassed by being on a 250 anyway, don't know why though, why would you want the attention?

Hollering at chicks while riding the blvd? Come on dude... Really?

And because you're "generally good looking"??? XP You have to be "extremely good looking" like me to do that.... LOL

You may be trying to associate too many thing with riding. Instead use that brain that go you into A&M and try to think of preserving THAT first.

And just learn to ride and have a good time without worrying about showing off.

Enjoy being on two wheels for the fun of riding.

Also, go for quality over quantity. You might be able to "holla" at a fair cross section of the attractive female population while cruising the seawall; but if you park it at a well selected location then enjoy a drink or the sea air you might be able to strike up a far more profitable conversation with those that pass by.

But if your not ugly and you don't wear your helmet to holla at the girls, then you run the risk of crashing and up your face. Which would make you ugly... Reverting back to above thought process.

Do yourself a favor. Play it safe and wear a helmet. Besides, if you ARE in fact ugly and just think your generally good looking, then it would be better to wear the helmet during the 'hollaring' to mask your oblivious ugliness. Win-win if you ask me.
Kinda like the chicken and the egg. When I opened this thread I didn't expect anything this deep

Don't take it personal, but if you're riding around without one for those reasons...yes you are. Good luck with the chicks.

the seawall is a low speed, but i have still seen some really stupid accidents happen there. my favorite was a drunk (im guessing) slam on his breaks at a stoplight and the weight of his truck shifted and came down on the tail of the sportbike in front of him, launching the guy into a flip.
if that was you, not only would you be off, but you could land on your face and be ugly! then what would the girlies think?

^^ is this guy serious...i think you have already taken a spill with no helmet once before...people who ride bikes would not mistake that for a 1000 nor a 600.
