by new to bikes, do you mean you haven't ridden before? May want to learn on something older/smaller; the new 600's are pretty much race bikes.

Excellent choice. The 250's are great first bikes, cheap to pick up, and easy to sell when you are ready to move on.

I am getting ready to get one for the wife in another week or so. The 500 is a little pricey for what it is, but you probably won't out grow it as fast.

If you want to drop by and check out the 250, you'll more than welcome. I'll have one next week, one way or the other!
