I do degrease the rims and undertail with WD40. It's safe on plastics and is easy to wipe off, but it cuts through chain grease like simplegreen!

Even the most basic paint surface correction would take a little over 4 hours, with some cars requiring a bit more work, and an array of different products to get to the desired finish.

People really don't realize how fragile their paint is- contaminated/dirty sponges, rags, and towels can do serious damage to even the best paint jobs.

Bikes aren't so difficult, I'll be able to take care of the tank in about 30 minutes from start to finish Gotta love naked bikes!

On my Aprilia I would wash it down good every week and once a month would take the wheels off so I could wash them as well as get all the gunk off the inside of the swingarm, sprockets, etc. Then I would wax it and polish the painted parts. The only products I use are Plexis for plastic, armor all wheel cleaner (doesn't leave white spots), WD40 for all the metal parts, automotive soap, and the microfiber rags from Costco. The ones from Costco don't require that you wash them before use. The ones from auto parts stores will actually scratch paint if you don't wash them first.
he's got it nailed

I failed mentioned my love for Simple Green, phenomenal product when diluted to the proper ratios. I will throw in the mandatory "do not use on painted surfaces" disclaimer but i have never seen any damage caused by simple green in over 10 years.
I understand the consequences of my actions prior to engaging in those actions. . .there are certain situations in life where the risk is totally worth the reward.
