Even high tops would offer you a second of skid protection. Low tops will take the skin right off instantly even in the lowest speed drops.

Yeah, I agree. You won't get an argument there from me. It just depends on what I'm wearing that day which shoes I've got. Some days boots others low tops. I've been looking at getting some riding shoes that look more normal but I haven't really found stuff that I like and that's comfortable.

Not sure the rest of yalls convo but i can valch for this, i dropped my bike at like 2mph nd got rash on my ankle do to wearing cortez's. i was more then hurt i have 2 pairs of boots at home nd that day i choose to not wear them. Needless to say now u probably wont ever catch me without jacket , gloves, lid, and most definitely boots.
