You can see mars and Jupiter pretty easy. They look like a stars that don't 'twinkle'.

The moon appears larger due to the effect of the atmosphere. Kinda like a curved glass aquariam will make a fish stretch as it passes the bend in the glass. Same thing with the curve of the atmoshpere and the moon "rising"
through the curve.

i'm pretty sure i saw a shooting star last night. i was headed into downtown off of 45N and saw a huge light zip across the sky and then just fade out. it was pretty bad . i'd seen one before, but not nearly as close as this one seemed to be.
