Hayabusa or zx-14...Which is really faster?

Which bike do you really feel is faster ? Any proof ? AND...which would you get given you only had the option to take one ?

zx-14 is faster stock, hands down. It has a superior clutch/tranny as well. on the other hand, there are about 1021648961564945648964786 parts out there for the busa. to check out some killer 14's, visit (nevermind, their sight is down)
Why do you need the fastest bike available? do you really think you'll ever use the full potential of your old R1? much less a busa or zx14? that's my 2 cents anyhow. I have 3 zx14's sitting in front of me if you have any more questions bout it. JET

I like teh busa. But am real impressed with the zx14's debut. jetcycles is right though. Nobody here can hit the full potential of their bikes. So top speed is irrelavant. Big bikes are for riders who cant make smaller bikes go fast.

BTW , Stock form the zx14 is faster. Ricky Gadson is wiping them off the track with his zx14 too.

Oh no...I love my r1...this is just a curious question because I was watching that superbikes show on speed (that replaced TWT, bastuds) and the zx-14 won 2 out of 3 times. Didn't know if that had more to do with the riders than the bikes themselves. I am gonna be getting a busa, but more so to fix up n cruise...I love draggin a knee so my r1 will definately be the first option...

Well I imagine, being a lil lighter...the busa is better in turns...albeit dependant on the rider, but I'm talkin' about str8 shots...

Rune's are NOT fast. They're heavier than their VTX brothers.

Not gonna happen in this lifetime unless the rig is heavily mod'd.

There's a fella on the V-Rod Forum which consistently runs low 9's and is about to break into the 8's on his V-Rod.

Stock with same riders, the 14 is quicker / faster.
BUT, the Busa platform has been around for quite some time now and is well proven and as Jet said, there is tons of aftermarket support for it.
I would imagine the 14 will eventually enjoy the same support, but it will depend upon long term reliability and ease of modification.

now that's the type of answer I was looking for...

str8 to the point...although I don't like the result.

So since the busa is not as fast, is there any truth to a rumor I've been hearin about an 'all-too-big' 1600 project that Suzuki is taking on ?

We've been hearing that for the last 3 years now, don't know if there is any truth to it but we'll see.

The busa doesn't do bad though for a 7 yr old design...........it's not like it's getting blown away by the 14. IMHO
