Point trigger electronic ignition.

this info is cool stuff right here folks.
way back in the day, a buddy of mine and I built a 5hp briggs and stratton go-cart and we made our own cam shaft grind and even designed a dual point electronic ignition to run it with. wasnt this cool, but triggered twice fired none the less

You know that 90% of the people on this board will not even know what this webpage is talking about.

But you know, you could put a sensor on the crank to trigger the HEI. But oh well. I guess it works. In order to make this work, you would have to get a coil too. Using the one for a points type system would still have the lag in it cause it gets it juice from spining the crank directly. Like on a briggs, the flywheel has the magnet in it and the coil is right on the block above it. The condensor is small too so no place to store for a powerful spark so there is a bit of lag. Ever notice the lag on a briggs motor when playing with the gas at low RPM? I guess his Duc 250 had all the other necessary components other than the electronic ignition part.
Just the same way you are tortured by common sense, I am tortured as to why you have none.
