New Canadian to MotoHouston

Hello all,

I'm Andrew and I moved to busy Houston from sleepy St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada in March. I'm a Mechanical Engineer and I was working for a US-based oilfield services company on a 5 week on/5 week off rotation in the Middle East for 4 years before I accepted an office-type position in Houston. When I got here I promptly noticed the lack of snow and bought myself a 09 CBR 1000 Repsol Editionwith 750 miles on eBay. So far I have had a great experience in Houston but my bike was stolen a few days ago and I am really wondering what to think of this. I met 081000rrKing and he suggested I post a note on here to help me get my bike back. I put a thread in the "Stolen" section about it.

Other than that I have been riding motocross at Three Palms and enjoying the sun and warm weather. My girlfriend is a Registered Nurse and she rides too..she will be moving here soon from Canada to be with me..then all the fun ends hahaha
