YZ450F my dirtbikes got slicks
went to CA last sunday in my sweet lonesome to do a shakedown on the new machine.
all in all....i like it a bit better than my 426. things ive noticed, the 426 has a much smoother power delivery and is more stable at speed, but the 450 has better turn in and is much lighter.
i ended up using my 426 MC and caliper since the pad surface was like twice the area of the 08 caliper. i managed to use the 2008 caliper carrier on the 2001 caliper and bolt THAT to the relo bracket for the 320 rotor. then i had to use the right side 08 front spacer on the left side of the bike, and i machined my own sacer for the right. also had to make my own brake line holder/bracket for the SS line. so now i have a full SM setup that i swap out, brakes and wheels, etc. so thats nice.
ok ....some pics and a couple laps.....
