Paul Dobbs dies during Isle of Man TT Supersport race

Paul Dobbs, 39, from New Zealand, and Austrian rider Martin Loicht were involved in separate crashes during the Supersport 2 race on 10 June.

Both were experienced road racers and investigations are ongoing.

Coroner Alistair Montgomerie expressed his sympathy for the families before adjourning proceedings at Douglas courthouse on Wednesday.

Dobbs, from Onewhero, suffered multiple head injuries in the crash at Ballagarey corner, Glen Vine, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inquiries ongoing

He leaves a wife, Bridget, and two daughters Eadlin, eight, and five-year-old Hillberry.

Mr Montgomerie described him as a "well known, highly respected and successful TT competitor" who loved the annual festival.

The hearing also heard brief details about the death of competitor Martin Loicht, 47, from Vienna.

The father-of-three suffered chest injuries in a crash at the Quarry Bends section of the course and died later at Noble's hospital.

Inquests will resume following the conclusion of investigations into the crashes.

That course is crazy , there is no room for error . The few crash videos I've seen were spectacular crashes . Love the race tho , it takes mad skills and HUGE b@lls to run as fast as they do
