And for everyone in this thread: I guarantee you the cop will show up in Friendswood and Clear Lake. This isn't 1400 Lubbock
I bet it wont even go to trial. They will negotiate a deal.

I've never been to a jury trial but I would imagine that the time for that has passed. In judge trials, perhaps or even at arraignments. I doubt the state will waste the time of the jury over negotiations but who knows.

You better have a good lawyer! Friendswood don't play!

Courts never want to go to trial. they will always give you an option beforethe trial begins

I will almost always do a jury trial. (I must be a dumbass.)

Why will I always pick a jury trial over a bench trial?

#1. I get to voir dire and hopefully pick a jury of people who will give my guy a fair chance.

#2. I get to suppress certain evidence that the jury will never hear (sometimes not applicable to traffic cases).

#3 The judge has probably worked with the officer(s) dozens of times. The jurors have probably never seen the officer (if they do know the officer, they'll get struck).

There's other reasons, but I'm not going to get into them.
