The problem with locks like these is they only provide minimal theft
deterence. If your bike is out of sight all you need is skateboard to defeat the lock. YMMV!

Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube, and that Bubba is why made fast motorcycles.

I agree that a lot of stolen bikes are simply picked up. Surveillance video showed that mine was.

all it would take is a hammer to break the lever off if you wanted to ride it off somewhere... but most thieves i think throw it in the back of a truck or van

That would be a good lock when the bike is in a public location for a short time but SBFuller is right. A hammer or bolt cutters to the lever would defeat that pretty quickly.
