Andy at Metric Motorcycles is good with older bikes. Motorcycles Unlimited too, but they are quite a bit further from you.

your garage!

What's wrong with it? Not starting, obviously...Not trying to insult ya, but have you done the basics? Check the battery, fresh gas, new plugs, visual inspection of the electrical (fix any bad wiring), change the oil, and clean the carbs...this can go a long way towards getting an older bike running (and if you still wind up having to take it to a mechanic, it'll save you a crapload of $$.)

if it's still not running after all this, maybe a mechanic is necessary, but I hate that option because oftentimes these shops bend you over with the cost of labor.

Don't know a good mechanic to recommend, but I bet that it'd fire right up after you did all this stuff, and it can all be done in a day (maybe 2 if you've never worked on a bike before)

What is it doing/not doing? does it at least try to start, or is it turn key>press start>not a thing?
