Try tolulene... I was a chemical inspector for 4 years . If you want to be just really cheap, use regular gasoline on a rag (contains Tolulene). The benzene in it does a hellova job. Small amounts of Acetone is in Gasoline, but very little.

btw I was shocked to hear that Acetone gave that bad reaction to it... Ok, I'm done talking about Chemicals for now.
