I'd use one on my bike, but only because the magnetic sensors never pick me up, and only when there was'nt other cars coming.

He would be responsible for no traffic accidents-I also believe the signal was on the RF portion of the bandwidth and should be controlled by FCC regulation and not by local law. That could be an interesting appeal if he gave a to overturn the law since it infringes on FCC regulation. The light is initiated to change much in the same way the magnetic fields or pressure sensors in the roads initiate the light change.
