I think the PPE required by the military kinda sucks, but is way better than sunglasses, flipflops and shorts. I go way beyond that every time I ride (jacket, pants, full face, gauntlets, moto boots, knee pads and the goofy looking reflective vest).
I knew about the SGLI (Servicemember's Group Life Insurance) getting nixed without PPE, but didn't know about the yearly MSF. If you guys do get one at Ellington post it up here (I'm a cheapskate).
I drill in Austin typically, but this weekend in San Antonio and I am meeting up with a buddy in Katy for a ride there this Saturday. Should be fun.
I don't have a sport bike, yet. Instead I went for a Rebel 2fiddy for my first. I still get off when dealers still say that the 600RRs are starter bikes that you will get bored with in a few months and should go for the liters.
