Chattanooga: Man arrested in connection with motorcycle fatality

By: Staff Report

Officials arrested a 25-year-old in connection with Friday’s traffic fatality at 1700 Daughtery Ferry Road in Sale Creek.

Witnesses and crash reconstruction led Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office investigators to arrest Dustin Levi, who was booked on a charge of criminal homicide, said sheriff’s office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson in a news release.

Investigators determined Mr. Levi had been drinking and was involved in a family argument that continued throughout Friday, Ms. Atkinson said. During the argument, he allegedly ran on and off the road in front of his home, daring drivers to hit him, Ms. Atkinson said.

Deputies learned Mr. Levi was in the road when Donald Williams drove by on his motorcycle. Mr. Williams’ motorcycle made contact with Mr. Levi, causing Mr. Williams to lose control, go off the road and travel about 51 feet before striking a tree, Ms. Atkinson said.

Mr. Williams was pronounced dead at Erlanger hospital.

What a tool. Too bad someone with a cattle guard didn't get to that drunk first.

On a somewhat related note... is that his young women on the back of the bike- if so, I think she is also the airbrush subject on the side there.

Baller if it is.

What story are you reading? There's no drunken driver just a drunken suicidal pedestrian.

We don't bother with logic until Friday. Is it Friday yet? No.

I am amazed at that comment.. had you read any of the article. (and from the comment you may be challenged in that aspect) but I will give you the sesame street version.. (and I would hope you are not typical of the normal member here)

A drunk 25 year old pedestrian (a pedestrian is a person on "foot", as in no car) attacked Don when he was riding by on a motorcycle.. the drunk "pedestrian" was suicidal (wanting to die) and charged at the bike as it come up around a corner. The bike went off the road and traveled 51 feet before hitting a tree..

Don died a short time later in the ambulance while being transported..

Don Williams was one of the safest, most adamant riders I have even known about wearing safety gear and always rode well within his means..

he also led literally hundreds of riders through the hills of Tenn and NC on group rides..

So your comment is from a realm of ignorance of the situation and shows that you have little comprehension of what happened..

Don was my friend and he was a friend to hundreds of riders from all over the USA... he was a family man that loved his wife, kids, grand kids and his fellow riders... I will miss his laugh and company... the photo below is at his funeral.. in honor of his sense of humor, our group did "the lean"..

I would aspire to know his sense of happiness in life..
