drag racing & back brakes

One of the things, that no one ever mentions when discusising rules for back brakes:

It is not just the shutdown distance you need for a given track and your expected speed.

Unfortuntely, there are occasions when you need to avoid some problem from the other lane. I rarely see it happen but when it does, the back brake is important. The other racer could wheelie bad, or have a mechanical issue that causes them to drift into your lane. The bike's ability for stopping or slowing down can be much more important then. Then why many tracks and series require back brakes.

race safe!

A motorcycle is a joy machine. It's a machine of wonders, a metal bird, a motorized prosthetic. It's light and dark and shiny and dirty and warm and cold lapping over each other; it's a conduit of grace, it's a catalyst for bonding the gritty and the holy.

redundant systems, thats why you need both.
Experience is not something you get until just after you needed it.
