VFR totalled!

Saturday (08.01.09) I lost the viffer. I was heading down kirby and as I came to the avalon light a POS mazda going the opposite direction turned left into me. I was going 40 maybe 45 saw him coming swerved to the right, not good enough. I put the bike down and somehow continued sliding straight down kirby as the mazda nailed the bike and pushed it down avalon. I was wearing all my gear, jacket, gloves, boots, helmet and walked away with rashed knees and a scrath on my finger. A witness stopped and confirmed that we had the green light. The POS had to be towed away also. I am really disapointed to have lost the vfr, I truly loved that bike. I think I am leaning a little more toward an (R) type as my replacement though. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about that, glad you are okay though.
It sucks losing a bike, especially one that you love.
I couldn't imagine losing my ZX-10R.
O well, just gotta move on

Did you take any pictures of the bike? If you did, post it up and if you have any pictures of the cars damage too.

yeah get the new vfr. It looks very good and it comes with standard abs brakes, so perhaps they will keep you out of trouble next time.

he laid it down before the pos hit it, he may not get a thing unless he has full coverage/replacement. the other drivers insurance will fight that it was at the time of impact road debris cause the rider and the bike were seperated before the pos ran over it( just being devils advocate here)

I hear there HAS to be contact to accept responsibility, We do everything in our power to avoid contact and sometimes we lay them down trying to do so It sux but I hear it is what it is, glad ur ok and the bike can be replaced, the vfr are ok depends on what U want a vfr would be a ways down on my list, most owners love them

...there was contact between the car and bike, but...

Now if he ditched before, sounds like breaknig might have been better than tryin to swerve.. or he jumped just in time to avoid physical contact with the car and actually cleared the car when he jumped leaving it to tke the car along.

Not you man, just thinking it over in my head (and having flashbacks darnit).
