Yeah.. that is definitely illegal. Why would you have those anyways other than looks? I can't see those being "fog" lights.

I know what being a is what doing a job is. I know many LEO's and this guy was talking at me...instead of to me. Almost in a drill instructor manner (and yes i know what that is - I spent 6 years US Army).

Anyways i think Im SOL anyways. Did more research boils down to interpertation by the judge. Some people won the dispute and others didn't.

Took em off anyways for now.

cops are gonna hassle u like crazy about that bc of the bluelight rapist thing years back...like 7 years ago a cop made me pull strobes out of headlamps and taillamps on a show car bc of an anonymous tip. I fought it bc those lights were never turned on unless it was in a private driveway or at/in a show, and by law, atleast then, you could not issue a citation based on an anonymous tip...so the cop lost his job and now he is addicted to meth.

so in reality, ur little blues lights will indirectly lead to said officer's meth-induced downfall...

Bummer Elm..!!! I like the way they look.

I installed blue LED's under the seat and in the engine area, never an issue. Also one of the headlights is "yellow/amber"

You can barely see here one of the LED pods.

Both headlights are amber..??? I was planning to do that with both headlights in the Speed Triple but not sure about the Law and really hate being hassled by "The Man", so in the meantime only one headlight is amber.

This Leo told me - no aux lights in the back.

Its a mute point though - I was more upset on the delivery than the actual citation. I am now curious what the citation fine will be since there was no specific fine on the DPS website.

I understand that they are legal unless they are alternating flashing? I dont see anything in the code saying they are illegal but nothing either saying they are legal...dammit!

Any comments?
Dude - they're illegal - and worthless as fog lights. Sure, they'll get attention, but the wrong kind.

White or amber facing forward - red or amber to the rear. Pretty simple really.

Seriously - as a fog light, blue is utterly worthless. Blue is the color most likely to be scattered by moisture, and at best, they would create a blue tinge to the area immediately ahead of your bike for about an inch. At worst, if they had some power behind them, they could actually blind you in bad weather.

Pitch em, or toss em under the seat or sumptin as an engine accent.

take a picture of the bike once you remove them. it isn't a moving violation so I am sure the fine won't be bad IF they still give you one since you removed the questionable lights

quoted for truth. Blue lamps are terribile, even if are the HID headlamps. once you get into the blue and violet range its harder for your eyes to see period. also the blue and violet tend to glare more off of paved surfaces so at night you are really kinda handicapping yourself.

besides, they are incredibly irritating at night.

stock headlamps are white for a reason, just think about what color sunlight is for a second

amber yellow and white are legal...and as far as goldwings, if your refering to the "ring of fire", I'm not 100% sure they are legal but they are enclosed and the manufacturer "tried" to cover them from facing forward.
