It's really more simple than it sounds.
Buy whatever grade you want.
For example: 1 gallon of 92.
If you have 1 Gal it's only 90% gasoline and 10% ethanol. You need to remove the 10%.
You dump in 1/4 Gal of water. So you need a bigger container for mixing. About 1.5 Gal. So the ratio that works good is 1 part fuel to .25 (1/4) part water (or 4:1). It doesn't need to be precise. Just close. It's easier to separate if the container has a mouth like the size of a bleach bottle.
Shake the living out of it or use some sort of mixer. Then turn the container upside down so the mouth is down. Let it sit undisturbed for about 2 hours.
It's more interesting if you use a clear container. Then you can see it happen. It starts instantly even during mixin dood. You'll see the water separate from the gasoline. The water contains all the ethanol and the gasoline is now ethanol free.
Slowly crack open the cap on the container and let the water drain. You won't smell any gas in that liquid. Some bubbles will obviously want to come up, but the effect is negligible. You can make a hole in the bottom if you don't like the bubbles, but then you can't use the container again. If you measure the water you drain out you'll end up with about 40% more because it's full of ethanol.
What's left is 9/10 gallon of ethanol free gasoline.

I reprocess mine afterward in a micro refinery and get pure, colorless, odorless fuel the equivalent of 92 oct race fuel. The exhaust smells completely different, just like race fuel. But the micro refinery produces a yield of 50%. It takes 2 gal to make 1 gal. Tell you what, this stuff will tear the out of your weed eater and you'll end up buying a new one.
It was a performance comparison test that ended badly.
Besides, she's full of alcohol and in the morning she won't remember 90% of the positions you threw her into. Maybe only a few times when you suddenly pushed her front end down into a quick dive that made that smokin tailpiece suddenly point to the sky..... you know, that thing you teasingly tell her is a "stoppy". She'll only have a vague memory or two of her tailpipe getting really hot from those, but still feeling a little warm and frazzled around the edges.
