![]() Anyone know where I can buy the kind of gas cans that don't breath? Last time I found one I was in Colorado. They swell like a balloon in the sun, and shrink when its cold, but in a garage they keep the gas good forever. the plan is to put all the equipment up this winter with ethanol free gas...but I'm actually considering a drum/barrel so I can pump my own to the moto at home. |

Ok, so for personal use the max I can transport is 250 liters.
The fact that this number is given in liters tells me the UN in involved... Anyway, that's a little more than a barrel |

While ethanol-free gasoline is great, the cost per gallon might not be worth it for those who own modern vehicles. Now if you have a claasic (pre-90's), then you would benefit more on maintenance and gas mileage. But for $4/gallon, that is too much IMO.

Can anyone confirm this "rumor" ??
I heard that if you put a cup of water in a gallon of gasoline with ethanol and shake the b'jeezers out of it, the ethanol will mix with the water but the gasoline won't. Let it sit for a while until the water all coagulates on the bottom. Slowly pour off the "ethanol free" gasoline and BAM, there ya go. A cup of water is supposed to be enough to suck up all the ethanol in a gallon of gasoline. I was gonna try this but never got to it. |

There is also Hopp's Propane in Santa Fe... they sell VP's stuff. you can either bring your own container and they'll fill it from their drums, or you can order whatever you want in as little as 5 gallon sealed pails.

If you can accurately measure volumes in vs volumes out, you should be able to deduct what went where. Quality testing aside, a 10% ethanol gallon of fuel should be 0.90gal after your experiment, if it works. You should be able to draw off the 2.6 cups of ethanol/water combo that you (hopefully) separated. |
