Thats how you know you are getting old. When you were 19 that would have been the coolest way to spend your nights.

True, I'm sure there's something to that, but I don't think I'd ever be down for shutting down a freeway.

Understood. But by the time you cut someone off they're likely intoxicated beyond the legal limit to drive anyway.

Let the victims family deal with it in civil court if they think the establishment is negligent.

It's illegal to serve someone an alcoholic beverage that is clearly intoxicated. Bombshells religiously overserves their patrons. When there are several incidents of drunk drivers coming from the same place, TABC will perform an investigation. If the place is not knowingly overserving their patrons, nothing happens at all. This place is so bad about it that it didn't just get popped by TABC, it got popped by the city.

In this case wouldn't it be the family of the drunk rider who killed himself?

I understand it's illegal.
I've never been there so I don't know about religiously over serving their patrons.

This is what I know... you have an establishment, that creates jobs, revenue for the city, pays federal taxes and provides an environment that some choose to enjoy responsibily. Idiots make a choice to drink and drive and bad happens. The DA gets a temporary restraining order, preventing them from earning a living, while they figure it all out and hope to shut them down. Remember, the idiot made the choice to drink and drive... no one made that decision for them. All the while, fire trucks are broken down, ambulances are broken down, the police force is short 3000 officers, people are car jacking, killing folks, pot holes all over the gawddamn place, 290 is in shambles, reservoirs are over flowing, people are stealing my , illegal immigrants camping in Home Depot parking lots loitering, humans are being trafficked etc. etc. etc.

This DA picks and chooses what laws she wants to enforce. Same with that weak police chief too.

I think the same thing happened to a lesser extent at Diablo Loco when the same group of peeps moved the meet from PP1 to there. PP1 nowadays is empty because of heavily enforced security

That is the problem the DA and Police Chief pick and choose what they enforce. I live on Washington Ave/Durham and see this all the time as for people being overserved. They say Washington Ave DWI's are like plucking fish out of a gold fish bowl....
Part is the establishments as they have no one policing them and they personally could give 2 shiits as nothing happens to them (maybe now that mind set will change). The police work the door and people call in noise complaints and they won’t ticket (even though it is the law). Then people say well the bar was there before you, when that is far from the truth. This is a city wide issue not just one bar or establishment. But in due time if you put enough pressure on a situation and bring enough bodies before the people in charge they take notice. It is a mad house in our area any night of the week. We had a meeting with the Captain last week, and the Lieutenant, the attorneys for White Oak and some of the plaintiffs. There is a group being formed to combat this issue as a whole city as someone needs to enforce the laws on the books and make Houston great again !!!!!!

It's pretty retarded for a city not to have zoning.

Agreed, but even so just don't be a nuisance to the community and abide by the laws and no problem.

We like the location and walkability to go eat, but the bars here recently and the patrons are just off the chain.
