Wedding planner/coordinator(s)

Looking for a wedding planner/coordinator for our wedding in October.

We already have most of our vendors booked and basically just need someone to help coordinate everything together. I've heard there are day of coordinators, so I'm not real sure if an actual planner/coordinator is warranted, especially considering the price...

...what say ye', MotoHouston? Any suggestions would be great!

I think there's only one that's single. She's from Scotland and I already see her getting hit on by nearly every single guy there.

RoadracerNC, I don't have any recommendations, but I will second the motion to hire someone to coordinate all the different vendors on the actual day of....

My wife and I skimped out and she had a friend "help" and my wife was still very stressed it made her physically sick. Had to take her home an hour after the reception started....wish we could go back and rethink that decision for sure.

Negative. I thought about some of you knuckles heads, but we went with a family friend for the photos, and someone we know from NASA (Premium Sound) for the DJ.

Yea dude, as we've gotten closer I've noticed the stress level start to rise. It's just too much for one or two people to do, without some sort of help from someone who does it often. The money spent on the coordinator, I would assume, would make the money spent on all the other things worth something, because what's the point of spending all that money if you can't enjoy what you're spending it on?

You definetly need a person specifically running the show that had a time oreinted program, coming from someone who has shot $200 weddings to $50,000 weddings a good coordinator will make things happen when they need to. VERY IMPORTANT, actually most venues will provide someone, for a fee of course

Yea...my whole theory behind getting a coordinator, is how can we justify all the other expenses if we can't enjoy it all? It just doesn't make sense to spend a bunch of money on something you won't even enjoy. So considering the type of wedding we're wanting to have, it just makes sense to spend a little extra so we can actually enjoy it all.

You are 100% correct, you dont want to have put all the time and money into her "perfect" day to have her being all stressed runnin around trying to figure out who is doing what and when and why they arent doing it.
