I have 2 and 2 a/c units. We are looking at one that runs on propane and runs theentire house. A complete back up generator

Yup about 5-6k with insallation.
Im not sure on the BTU on the small windo unit a/c units. I know they would cool the house pretty good. 2000 sf home. I ran 2 generators. 3 iscolating fans, fridge/freezer, freezer, 2 a/c units, tv, and 5 lamps.

i use a 6500 watt and power up 3 lamps, tv,fridge,15,000 btu window unit and 3 fans no problem.

i stapled up quilts up to keep the cool in the kitchen and family room

honda eu 2000.... ran a 5000 btu ac, small fridge, lights, tv, computer, cable box and broadband modem.

very quiet, easy to move, fuel efficient, excellent resale value!

i got a 5k and an 8k sitting in my garage, i decided that after 2 hurricanes i am tired of either leaving or sweating and losing all my food (i got a deep freeze that i keep full).

With a newborn or preggers you gotta go, gen won't help much if you can't find formula or infant meds. My son was really sick after Ike, had to drive 60 miles to find an open clinic and then it took a day to get his meds.

Stock up on plywood and garage door braces instead.

I use an old a$$ welder it has a 15 kw gen on it and is fairly efficent on fuel a normal house on 12 to 15 gallons a day o I almost forgot it's diesel we ran it on cooking oil most of the time
