Dunlop roadsport 2 review

At first I wasn't too sure about the value priced Dunlop Roadsport 2 tires. I was almost positive a "value priced" sport tire would definitely lack in at least 1 or more areas of quality, performance or reliability.
Bill Drake from Cycle Shack North asked me to give it a shot and post an honest review so here it goes.
*Right off the bat..the tire profile looked sporty with great lean angle capabilities and the carcass felt right.
*Next was the mount/ balance challenge. Excellent bead and easy to mount. Very well balanced tire.
*Test ride: I decided to run 38psi rear and 36 front. right off the start the tire felt very responsive and predictable. I felt right at home. The carcass flex over harsh bumps was just right. In the corners, even under heavy aceleration and bumps the tire did not feel unstable. It just rails through like a beast.
I was almost certain that a "value priced" set tire would have some flaws but boy was I wrong. These tires did everything my last q3+ did on the street.
I would most definately recommend giving the Dunlop Roadsport 2 tire a try. 5 star tires.

Thanks for the detailed review. Having ridden with you prior I'm sure you've put it thru the test. Been eyeballing these. I normally do the s20 front with t30 rear for mileage. sadly I don't ride as much nowadays, so I think these would fit the bill.

Thank you to jimrad for posting his review of the new Dunlop RoadSmart 2 tire. I appreciate the feedback, either positive or negative. I'm glad this was a great review especially for a tire I can offer you guys at such a low price. Starting today I'm running a sale on sets of RoadSport 2 tires. Due to Dunlop's strict Minimum Advertised Pricing Policy I can't post the set price here. But I can say that a set of RoadSport 2's will be less than the price of a single 180/55-17 Q3+! Please PM or call Cycle Shack at 936-756-9711 for questions or more info. Also, be sure to ask for me to get the MH sale price. Jimrad also has the pricing information. It's a good time to take advantage of this sale as the $60 Dunlop rebate expired at the end of August and was not extended. Have a great weekend.

Keith, maybe another update on the RoadSport 2 now that you have put a few more of your weekend rides on them? Just curious as to the current mileage on them and hoping your still happy with them. Let me know. Thanks.

Value priced, excellent review for both performance and longevity, an A+ Morgantor rating, I think Dunlop has hit a home run with the new RoadSport 2 tire. Two new Dunlop's for less than one Pirelli or Michelin?

Im at 3800 now with about 1/4 tread left. On my Tuono thats the most miles ive ever done. Normally with other brands its around 3500. Im thinking this tire may make it to 4200 or more and its half the price of what i was running.

Over 4000 miles out of a set of Dunlop tires that performed just as well as a Pirelli Rosso 3. A set of RoadSport 2 tires cost less than the Pirelli rear by itself and lasted longer. Very impressive by Dunlop. I'm running a special on sets of these awesome and inexpensive RoadSport 2 tires this week. A rear Pirelli is usually $189. Sets of these Dunlop's are about 15% less than that right now. Sale price good through this Saturday, 10/26/2019. Let me know what you need. On hand supplies are limited but I can easily get more if needed. 936-756-9711, ask for Bill Drake. Thanks.

Did a couple of rides on cooler mornings and the tires heat up quick and stick well. Even did some wet roads and it did well.

Thus far, what kind of mileage are ya'll getting/expecting for 1k bikes?

Haven't been able to take out on a backroad ride yet. However, for street, this tire has been holding up pretty good. Grip is as expected with good heat for just putting around.

Got 4200 miles...amazing tire...

Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 got 3500 miles at $189

Dunlop RoadSport 2 got 4200 miles at $94

I noticed no difference in performance between the 2. Your opinions may vary.
