16-year old sues mom for hacking into his Facebook account...

:superfuckingfacepalm:

https://blogs.discovermagazine.com/di...ebook-account/

A 16-year-old boy in the town of Arkadelphia is suing his mom, claiming that she hacked into his Facebook account and posted slanderous stuff about him on his page. The teen, Lane New, also alleges that his mom changed his email and Facebook passwords to lock him out of his accounts.

The mom, Denise New, is flabbergasted by the harrassment lawsuit. She says that like any other parent, she was just looking out for her son, and adds that her actions weren’t driven by any malicious intent. She told local TV station KATV:

“I read things on his Facebook about how he had gone to Hot Springs one night and was driving 95 m.p.h. home because he was upset with a girl and it was his friend that called me and told me about all this that prompted me to even actually start really going through his Facebook to see what was going on.”

what is more disturbing is a court actually accepted this . stupid. a parent can be charged for not controlling their kids but try to control them and get sued anyway. that.

When I was coming up, if I sucked up, I paid the price. PERIOD. Now days, you seat your kid on the , you go to jail. You take their keys away for being retarded, your sued.. it. It's called LAW (lack of whipping) if I back talked mom.... I got punished. Now days you even think of raising a hand, your going to jail. A judge actually is letting this continue? Seriously?

Somehow I doubt that the mom ""hacked"" his facebook. I bet the kid just has a stupid-easy password and/or the password recovery questions were things his mom would know (a legit problem).

"The teenager has been living with his grandmother over the last five years and Denise says, despite the current suit, she and Lane share a “great relationship.”

^This is the only issue I see in the lawsuit. If his "mother" isn't his legal guardian then I don't think she has the right to try and act like one whenever she feels like it. Maybe she's a crack head and the state took her son away?

Too many what if's to really know why a judge would have taken this case.

Under normal circumstances I'd be screaming " the justice system" but until more facts come out it sounds like the story is just an attention grabber for the sake of grabbing attention.

Also, the kid needs his beat for even thinking about a lawsuit over some stupid facebook bullshit.

People do tend to take FB a little too seriously.

I want to know how the court could possibly accept a lawsuit filed by a minor without parental consent.

How did the child sign a legal contract with his attorney?
