New guy. Moved from Cali to TX

Hi,

Thanks for letting me join. I just moved from CA to TX and looking to meet fellow riders. Where does everyone ride? Are there any good routes? I'm used to the hills of Cali.

I also just signed up for a track day at MSR Houston in June. Hopefully I can learn the tracks and race with CMRA soon!

Welcome.

You will enjoy the CMRA. If you are interested in mini racing, look to TMGP in Katy and Denton and Speedsportz.

The closest roads to Cali are found in the Hill Country (Three Sisters and others). The roads around Houston aren't exactly exciting...

What do you ride?

Welcome to Texas.

Thank you. Haven't done mini racing, but I may check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

I'll check out Hill Country for sure.

These days I'm running 2012 GSXR 750's. I ran Yamaha's for a while, but switched to the dark side a few years ago.

Welcome to MH! I'm still 1.5 weeks away from moving back to Texas from Cali myself

You're going to love the Houston culture and we have the BEST food options, hands down!

I'm going to start tracking this year and hopefully, work my way up to COTA by the end of the year. Hope to see you at some MH events!

Welcome! Don't Cali our Texas!

There lots of great roads that we ride, most are West, NW and North of Houston. TONS of good stuff in Austin. Not sure if our Houston area stuff will meet your standards tho. I'm envious of the Cali roads.

Several of us Race CMRA and many do trackdays. Hope to see you on the grid soon!

Great. I'll check 'em out. Yeah, I signed up for MSR Houston in June to check it out. Hopefully I can get enough events under my belt this season and then try CMRA next season.

Not to start a war, but Killen's in Pearland has the best Q around

You may get some different opinions

I'm just gonna leave dis right here:

https://houston.eater.com/maps/best-...ue-restaurants

I've eaten from: Burns Original BBQ, Gatlin's BBQ, Triple J's Smokehouse BBQ, Killen's Barbecue.

This list does not includ Pappas BBQ because each location varies. It all depends on the pitmaster at the location. I will say that there's an EXCELLENT Pitmaster at the Pappas BBQ off of Little York and HWY 59/i69. Their babyback ribs "don't make no sense"!

Have fun! I'd like to get your opinion on your top 3 BBQ places. I hope you try them all out lol.
