Ever bought a car from eBay?

Need advice or pointers...
Looking to get a car from eBay.
Good used price, but the fcker is in Cleveland OH.
For the color and options, no one in town has it with that low miles and at that price.

The drive is not a problem for me, could actually use a good vacation.
The dealer/seller has sold 316 vehicles with a 100% feedback, is a Power Seller and has several awards and recognitions from eBay (whatever that amounts to).

From the looks of it, eBay has a pretty solid vehicle protection program.
Any of you have any experience buying a (non-local) vehicle online?
Any advice, pointers, stories or pitfalls are appreciated.

Our dad bought Squoddybody a car off Ebay once. I don't remember there being any trouble with the purchase or delivery. Car seemed stable too.

Sounds like a good seller. It's no worse than buying a car out of the Houston Chronicle IMO.

Good Luck~

Thanks!

I guess since I can't actually go and see the vehicle myself before I commit, I'm still a bit reluctant. If it was in Houston I could just swing by and check it out... They've got 30+ pics on the listing, plus the CarFax report, so that really helps!

, that's good to hear...

2008 Accord EX-L.

I actually bought my cruiser off eBay also from a dude that had (0) bid history in ILLINOIS.
I kinda checked out first tho and even actually talked to the guy several times over the phone.
Wasn't easy blindly mailing that cashier's check.

I've checked AutoTrader, Chron, Craigslist (various cities) and many car dealers online used inventory websites.
Still can't find a better deal than the one on eBay.

I did but it was from a local buyer so I got a chance to actually see the car first.

I did, but it was from an individual. It was a 91 BMW 325 vert 5 spd. and it wasn't as described. It looked good but things like the top didn't work and he barely maintained it in the three years he owned it, but he sure drove the out of it. In the end we agreed to cancel the sale. He placed it on auction with the correct description nect time and it sold for less that what I would have paid for it.

Unless it's a cheap car I am too skeptical to buy something without seeing it first.

i bought one a few years back from ebay everything was fine at first it came with a 6,000 mile warranty and then my tran and rear end blew out but the warranty covered it all, but with a newer car like that it should still have a factory warranty i would get the vin do a car fax and call a dealership to make sure it still has a good warranty and pay with paypal if its from a privite guy if its a dealership then you should be good to go
