Solracer's Super Awesome Austin Area ride (May the 4th be with you) 2018 v1.0

As some of you know, I'm planning on leading another trip out on another one of my "adventure rides". This will be the 1st ride of 2018.

***What to expect on this ride***

How much? The entire trip should cost less than $250 if you split gas/trailer and hotel. The includes all fuel for truck and bikes and food.

How many miles? : Roughly 590 miles (If we complete it all), 14 - 16 hours over the 2 days. We make several stops for food, gas, and photos.

When? Leave after work on Friday, May the 4th, stay 2 nights in Austin and return the night of Sunday the 6th.

What should you expect? : All kinds of roads. long and swoopy, narrow and tight, water crossings (you may drive through water), cattle guards, sweet jumps(you WILL catch air), and some gravel. You should also expect beautiful scenery.

On a scale from 1-5, our pace will be a 4. Moderate. I don't slow down in the straights. I WILL stop at all changes of direction for anyone behind... This isn't for new riders, this is more suited for guys who know their bike and limits. These guys aren't afraid to get a little dirty and have some fun. Cops aren't an issue except in one town which we wouldn't be hauling anyhow. I repeat. "Seasoned riders welcomed". I can't stress enough that this isn't a casual ride. Last time, we had a bike break a fork. We have a lot of miles to cover and only so much time. We will be MOVING.

Your motorcycle? Should be well maintained and in good running condition. I prefer it could do at least 100, but not really necessary. Stretched Busa's would NOT have fun on this ride. I've had all kinds of bikes go on these rides and most everyone has a great time. (I used to lead with a Ninja 500r.) Tires and chain should be in good condition.

We will leave after work on Friday and stay the night in Austin on Friday night, Ride Saturday and Sunday. Return home Sunday evening.

Last time, we rented a house via AirBnb and it worked out perfect. I will try to do that again.

One that can be pinned for a while, one that you like to romp on.

I'll with be on my yzf600r, or VFR. Either of those have been working great out there for everything we encounter. We normally come across more water crossings in April/May because of more rain in the spring.

It's possible that I may end up with another bike by the time may rolls around. Might bring that. Who knows.

Lmao! If that happens again, the entire trip is on me. I will reimburse every single rider for hotel, gas, and food.

Back of the envelope math shows this to be reasonable daily mileage.

I would NEVER ride my ktm on something like this unless being followed by someone in my truck with a spare bike. Now the little drz... definitely. But too slow for a solracer ride.

Jimmy took it on one of these rides a few years back. Bevo and I kept looking back for him in the straights.
