End of rockets winning streak!

The Houston Chronicle are reporting that Yao has a stress fracture in his left foot and the Rockets are expected to announce he will have season-ending surgery later Tuesday.

The team has scheduled an afternoon news conference.

Houston, currently on a 12-game winning streak, is in fourth place in the Southwest Division. The streak followed a loss in the one game that Yao has missed all season.

The 7-foot-6 Yao is averaging 22.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in 55 games this season.

this thread is about Yao, not the Rockets....

and to think I was actually watching the past few games (here and there) thinking they had a chance....so much for that.

Sux is right.

Sadly, it does REALLY help me in my fantasy league though.

I was devastated when i found that out today on sportscenter. I was so happy to see them playin good after the crappy start that they had and thought they might do something really special with this streak that had goin. And in one moment the whole season ended. Even if they make the playoffs there aint no way they could win it all.

Actually the thread is titled "End of the rockets winning streak!" Not, Yao out for season. First off, the winning streak didn't end, second, Yao isn't as big of a factor in the team as he was last year. And BTW we went 20-12 during the stretch last year without him, and we didn't have Scola nor Landry. Guess since the winning streak didnt end, this thread is useless.
