find a cheap route back in. get a cheap bike to fix up. if you have a decent car, consider uber driving to make some spare cash. in one week of grinding, working my full time job, and uber driving every moment i wasnt on the clock or asleep, i made almost $1000. if you want to have absolutely no life, and frequently forget what day it is, it's a great way to quickly build a bike fund. i worked about 23 hours straight the day before i found my current bike, a cheaply bought sv650. i got this thing for $1200 with a good title. with the new tires i got on sat, i think i just broke $2000 into this build. there's a really nice, cheap sv down in the classifieds right now with a gsxr front end swap.

Ditto. Cheap SV is the way too go. Tons of spares available everywhere. Not too slow and will keep you entertained. I miss my SV

Thanks. I was thinking about a project bike. Maybe something I can take my time on. I don't know where to start looking for one?

I've got a black/black 08 GSX-R 600 I'm going to be looking to sell fairly soon (waiting on paperwork to get the title, delayed by our post office roof collapsing)...

I've seen several fairly good deals on triumph sprint 1050s recently, and they're great all around bikes... I'm on my second 06 after my first flooded in Harvey. Paid around 1800 for each of them.

fb marketplace and craigslist are my go to's.
it may help to keep an open mind if you are looking for a project, but i'd suggest keeping it fairly simple. dont go grabbing up a dead '78 goldwing to cafe out if this is your first time really working on a bike.
