While I like Deals Gap and it is beautiful around there, I would tell you that Arkansas is a better place to ride and also very beautiful. Best of luck on the trip.

Could not agree with you more. I hit Deals gap and 'Back of the Dragon' in VA on my way to Virginia last year. Great roads. But, I've been taking day trips to AR and between the Quachita and the Ozark national forests, some of the nicest roads are a of a lot closer than NC and VA.

hard core rider, day trips to Alaska?

Arkansas is truly great but variety is the spice of life. Get out and see the country. And comparing Deals Gap to the Ozarks is like comparing Appalachia to Talimena Scenic Byway.

Ha, oops. Yeah, I'm not that hardcore. State abbreviation bit me

And in no way is it a direct comparison. Deals gap is one of those places as a rider, you have to experience. But , if you're making the trip out there, I'd also highly recommend the 4 hour trek to 'Back of the Dragon' to really complete the trip of some awesome roads

Arkansas does have some nice roads, but the smokies are really where its at. Twisty, scenic roads EVERYWHERE

There are a ton of great roads around TN, NC area besides deals gap. It's great riding roads. Let me know if you want some help with routes there.

That was my point as well. Appalachia vs Ozarks would be a fair comparison but Appalachia ftw. But Deals Gap vs Ozarks is not a comparison. DG is only the Airbnb location, could spend weeks there riding new routes daily.
