Oh, this is so sad. I'm so glad he was on the last group ride I did a few weeks ago, and so glad I hugged him. He was always an inspiration to me, to keep riding. Never too old. Glad he was doing something he loved when his time came. I will miss riding with him. Such a sweet man...and a good rider. Prayers for his family.

This makes me sad. I really liked bill. he rode up to cota just to watch us run and hung out in the pits with me. I gave him parts for his fuzzy because I didnít need them anymore. This sucks. Rip my friend.

A little more news on what actually happened.

He was waiting at a bus stop for kids to get on and according to the bus driver who witnessed it he took off and almost imediately headed to the curb and hit it throwing him off the bike. When EMS arrived he had no pulse and they couldnt revive him. I spoke with his daughter and speculation is he had a heart attack and died instantly.

It's always a sad day when you lose a friend and fellow motorcycle enthusiast.
The only solace I can find is that he passed while doing something he loved from natural causes and not from the negligence of others.

Rest in Peace Bill. You will be missed.

Thanks Chris. Have no idea where that "young man" thingy comes from. If you look down at the ground and see some dirt - then I am about the same age.

I spent many years racing sailboats out in the Bay near where you live. Now I ride motorcycles to keep young.

Wow. I did not know him personally but have seen him and spoken to him in many meetings here at MD Anderson. Got this email letting us know he passed. RIP.

it is with great sadness that Iím communicating the passing of Bill Baker. Bill was a huge part of our team for the greater part of his 15+ year career at MD Anderson and a good friend. Billís family and many friends are trying to work through this difficult time and I encourage you to keep them in your prayers.

We will be working with Billís wife, Jan, and his daughter, Lucy, to communicate details on his arrangements as they are made available.

Randy
