I hear ya.
We have people on board and our offered rate right now is 2K.

If we could get a few more people, can negotiate to get that reduced.
Tell your friends, maybe someone who is essential can cut it with their tax return $$.

What kind of membership are you talking about? Sufficient details to know what you are proposing might help.

MSRH Membership.
It's a 2K up front payment which gets you your membership to the track. This is a one time payment at signing.
There are monthly dues of $275.
You can put your membership on hold after 1st year.

Only members are allowed at the track right now and for the immediate future.
You are allowed to have guests come and ride with you for the daily fee but as of now its members only.

If you do 2 trackdays a month, this would be a great option for you.
If you don't, as long as you can afford the $275 a month, it's still an option.
It's 30 minutes bikes, then 30 minutes cars all day.
You will have all the track time you can handle, guaranteed.

Right now we have a mixture of old racers, new racers and new riders signing up.
Good thing about that is, plenty of people willing to help you become a safer, better, faster rider and plenty of rabbits to chase.

Please feel free to PM me with your cell # and I can call and answer any questions you might have.

yeh, I'm fine with paying a monthly or per session fee. Tracks need to make money at the end of the day. And MSRH needs money spent on it.

But considering daily rates are about $150 for tracks around here... You need to ride at least twice a month to justify membership. And when it's only open to members two weekends a month (non-virus times), and with the weather in Houston typically being spotty. It starts to make less sense for me.

Just as a quick rant... I have been there on more than a few occasions when there are maybe 1-2 other bikes. They run the sessions if there is at least one bike. So to me, having only a few bikes out on a day represents loss of money. So in saying that, why why why, not offer a daily rate for bikes (non-members) to use the track at ~$175?

That will tap into your once a month or less rider base. Which I assume there are plenty of. And of course, those that can ride during the week can keep justifying their membership.

MSRH will never offer a non-member daily rate, that's why there are memberships. It is an exclusive deal geared towards the benefit of their members. I don't believe they are losing any money by having 1-2 bikes on the track and that is why it is setup as so. That's a perk of membership, non crowded track with tons of seat time.

For those that can't do more than 1 track day a month, or those that only ride on the weekends and can't get out as much, as mentioned, maybe not a benefit.

BTW, the track is open to members a lot more than just weekends non virus time.
For March of 2020 only one weekend was not open to members, look at attached screen-shot of calendar, blank or gold color is open to members.

Anyways, it's definitely not for everyone but there is a group currently signing up and if anyone is interested send a PM.

Correct, then the second year only the monthly dues, you are a member once the initial sign-up payment is made.
You can put your membership on hold after year 1, and not have to pay monthly dues until you reinstate.

That's a great deal! Would cars also be covered under this membership?

You have to pay, to play. 2000 upfront is cheap money. You would be shocked to know the regular initiation fee. , you don't want to know what it cost 9 years ago.

I've always been interested. But, I'm curious about the track itself.

Is there any outlook or plan on re-paving/re-grading the track? i love the track, but it's got more bumps than Edward James Olmos' face.

My very first track day was exactly this. Not offered by MSRH directly but rather via “special” relationship of a group of responsible bike riding members. It’s funny I only learned of motohouston from this group. While was 190$ over 10yrs ago was worth every penny. I wouldn’t say could never happen. It was a very good business model and was the simplest and best run TD. I could be spoiled by first experiences but im certain others here also recall and could chime in.
