Barge crash/oil spill at Texas City Dike

A barge and ship collided to around the TC Dike yesterday. The barge was carrying oil. One of the tanks containing 168,000 gallons of oil ruptured and caused the barge to sink. Oil spill close to home.

That spill sucks all around ... bad for birds and fishing. Sucks for my work cause no ships can get in or out of the channel.

Hope they get it cleaned up soon and there is not alot of damage to wildlife.

Ya, the ship channel's shut down and so is the ferry. Sucks for those who live in Bolivar.

I was one of the cruisers stuck out in the gulf for 12 hours. It was oily when we did get to come into port.
